Overview
Assist with serving Christmas dinner to our residents at The Salvation Army Men's & Veterans Shelter.
Primary Responsibilities

Set-Up: Put out the side dishes for dinner and make sure all eating utensils, napkins, plates, and cups are stocked for dinner.
Food Service: Plate dinner and serve to clients, pour beverages, manage allergy-aware labeling, and maintain a clean serving area.
Tidy & Reset: Plate up late plates for working residents, container leftovers, wipe serving area, sweep kitchen area, and take out trash.

Set-Up Crew: Start setting up at 3:00pm

Serving Crew: Serving time 3:30pm-5:30pm(approx. 2 hours)

Reset Crew: 5:30pm-6:00pm (30 minutes after dinner ends)

Dress Code
- Closed-toe shoes (non-slip recommended)
- Modest, comfortable clothing suitable for kitchen/dining service
- Hair tied back; (hairnets will be provided)
- Hands washed and covered (gloves will be provided)
- Positive, respectful, and compassionate attitude
Qualifications

Warm, patient, and kid-friendly; able to follow staff direction.

Age: 14+ (minors must serve with a parent/guardian).

Maintain safe boundaries and trauma-informed, non-judgmental care.

Comfortable standing/walking for up to 3 hours (accommodations available).
Training & Check-In

Kiosk Check-In: Sign in/out on arrival at the Iserv Volunteer tablet kiosk.

Orientation: On-site briefing covers roles, schedule, safety, and emergency procedures.

Safe From Harm Training required if you're an ongoing Volunteer

Photos of residents allowed only with permission. All photos must be updated to Staff-provided link for approval of use on official company websites & social media only. Not allowed on personal websites or personal social media accounts.
Report spills, breaks, or concerns to staff immediately.
